Dolly Parton’s Stampede Branson: 15 Tips To Know Before You Go

Vacationing in Branson, Missouri soon? If so, you probably have plans to see Dolly Parton’s Stampede. The interactive dinner attraction is a mainstay of the Branson show scene. It features a full-scale arena spectacular with a talented cast of performers, costumed servers, singing and dancing, trick riding with an impressive stable of 32 horses. To make your Stampede Branson experience the best, here are few things you should know before you go to the show.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede Branson Tips

Dixie Stampede Branson Tip #1 Arrive early for the pre-show. It starts 50 minutes before showtime.

Tip #2 The best seats for the pre-show are found upstairs. Seating is limited, but the best vantage point for viewing the performers is located here. Plus, you have easy access to the main arena upstairs.  (Please note – seating is not reserved for the pre-show but is for the main show.)

Tip #3 Snacks and drinks can be bought during the pre-show but be sure to save room for the main meal served during the show. It is plenty – believe me!

Tip #4 You can use your camera before the show for pictures with Dolly’s southern belles or on the horsewalk. However, taking photos during the show is strictly forbidden. As a result, be sure to put your cameras and phones away at showtime.

Dixie Stampede BransonTip #5 Purchase Stampede tickets in advance to get the best possible seats. Many times, you can also get a better deal by booking online.

Tip #6 Bring cash. Gratuity isn’t included in the ticket price, and Dolly Parton’s Stampede servers work hard to take care of you. Plus, you may want to buy the souvenir photo which is typically cash only.

Tip #7: Be prepared to eat with your hands as Stampede does not provide utensils. However, don’t fret – wet wipes are provided!

Dixie Stampede Branson Tip #8 Don’t plan on having an alcoholic drink. The Stampede Branson location does not serve alcohol of any kind, so plan on having a strictly Pepsi night.

Tip #9 The best souvenir to buy in the gift shop is the creamy vegetable soup mix. For $7.99, you can make this delicious soup in your very own home. And trust me, it’s worth every penny. Want to make the Dolly Parton’s Stampede soup from scratch. Find the delicious recipe here.

Tip #10 Leave the fancy duds at home. The Stampede is an interactive show. You’ll be cheering and stomping on your side, and may even participate is an arena competition. Wear something casual so you’re comfortable for the festivities.

Dixie Stampede Branson Tip #11 Buy a Stampede flag if you brought kids. It’s only $2 and kids get a kick out of waving them in the air as they cheer on their side.

Tip #12 If you’re not in a rush to leave, stay after the show to meet the riders and horse and get your Stampede flag autographed. You’ll also avoid the parking lot chaos.

Tip #13 Strollers are not allowed in the Main Arena, so plan accordingly.

Tip #14 Tickets aren’t required for children 3 and under, but they will have to sit on your lap. I highly recommend purchasing a ticket for them to make your experience more enjoyable.

Tip #15 Can’t finish the entire meal? The servers provide doggie bags at the end of the show so you can take your leftovers with you. This is especially helpful when dining with kids, as the portions are entirely too large for them to finish.

    1. The facilities at Dixie Stampede are fully handicap accessible. Simply let our reservationists know you have a mobility scooter and they will accommodate you accordingly.

  1. we figure preferred seating is best-would you agree ?
But is there a general preference between north or south seating
    thank you

    1. There is no seating difference between North and South. The section you sit in, however, is the side you cheer on during the show. So, if you have a preference in that regard you can make that request. I hope that helps!

  2. I have a granddaughter with Celiac so she is not able to eat any fried foods or anything with wheat. I have searched the website and tried to call, but I haven’t been able to find anything and I can’t get through on the phone.. Do you know if they will provide something that she would be able to eat, such as baked chicken and a gluten-free cookie, and if not can we bring snacks in for her? I wouldn’t want her to feel like she didn’t have the full experience. Thanks

    1. Dolly Parton’s Stampede does offer gluten-free meals for guests. Please note this upon reservation and it will be no problem. Have a great time at the show!
