Branson Fiddle Festival Full Schedule Announced

Visitors to Downtown Branson will be treated to the sweet sounds of fiddle music during the 26th Annual Fiddle Festival the first weekend of August.  The Branson Fiddle Festival includes the Mid-America Fiddler’s Championship, demonstrations, entertainers strolling the streets of downtown, workshops and more.  Slated for August 2-3, 2014, the event is in an all-new location this year but will keep its tradition of showcasing incredible talent.

At the center of the event is the Championship Contest, which will be held inside the newly remodeled, air-conditioned Historic Owen Theatre.  The emcee for this year’s contest is Wayne Massengale, who is a five-time Branson Fiddler of the Year.  Beginning at 9am, judges will start listening to the many contestants performing in hopes of winning some of the $5,000 in cash prizes.   For the 2014 championship, there is no entry free.  Registration begins at 8am, although pre-registration is greatly appreciated.

Mid-America Fiddler’s Championship divisions include:

The grand prize winner will take home $1,000 with the other winners taking home prizes $25, $75, $100 and $125 in the Pee Wee division, $50, $100, $125 and $200 for Juniors, $100, $200 and $250 for seniors, $100, $200, $300 and $400 for Accompanist and $150, $300, $500 and $700 in the open division.

The Fiddler’s Championship Schedule is as follows:

Throughout the day, festival activities will be located on Commercial Street, in front of the theater.  Outdoor events and things to do include craft vendors, a critter meet and greet hosted by the Promised Land Zoo, balloon artists, carnival games, jugglers, strolling entertainment and live music.  Delicious food will also be served, with pulled pork, buttery corn on the cob and brats some of the signature items.

Outdoor activities are free, while tickets to attend the indoor Mid-America Fiddle Championship are $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-12.  All championship contestants will have their admission fee reimbursed.

Put on your toe-tappin’ boots and make plans to attend the Branson Fiddle Festival.  It’s old-fashioned fun for the whole family.
