Earlier this year, Silver Dollar City announced the addition of Time Traveler. It’s set to be the world’s fastest, tallest, and steepest spinning roller coaster! Yes, you read that right–this coaster spins. It will also be the only spinning coaster to feature all of these awesome elements:
In 2017, the Showboat Branson Belle brought the show Country on the Lake to the masses, earning rave reviews. Performed primarily at lunch, this high-energy show features country hits from the 90’s, 2000’s, and today. Starting March 9, 2018, the Showboat Branson Belle will debut a new main show for its evening dinner cruises. The variety show’s cast of singers, dancers, and live band intends to spotlight hit music from the 70’s to today.
Sight & Sound Theatre debuts new shows in Branson every two years. In 2018, the new show is Samson and will focus on the much-heralded character from the Bible. In many ways, Samson was the first superhero. He was able to defeat entire armies and slay lions—no easy feat! However, his powers came with a catch—he must follow the rules. This show will follow Samson on a journey of struggle, redemption, and love. The production comes to life thanks to a world-class cast, spectacular special effects, and live animals.
At this all-new show, guests will be treated to a feudin’, feastin’ family fun as they become part of the longest-running feud in history. Watch as the Hatfields and McCoys try to settle their difference in a hilarious dance and comedy review—mountain style! The show also features a southern homestyle feast, so come hungry!
Festival of Wonder debuted at Silver Dollar City in 2017. However, it returns April 11-29, 2018, and will feature all-new acts. They include CirqUnique, a group of talented contortionists, an extreme pole balancing duo, extreme juggling and a slack wire acrobat; Vitaly Beckman, a professional illusionist; X –Pogo, pogo stick professionals; and Radim Zenkl, a US National Mandolin Champion.
Branson is becoming quite the golf destination. In fact, it’s the fastest-growing golf destination in America. A total of eight courses are located in Branson including the Top of the Rock and Buffalo Ridge courses. Both of these courses are notable for being included on the annual PGA Legends of Golf Tour. For 2018, a Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw layout is planned as are two additional courses helmed by Tiger Woods.
In case you missed it, the following attractions were new in Branson in 2017.
Morris, the owner of Big Cedar Lodge and Bass Pro, continued his mission to make Branson a renowned golf retreat with the addition of a world-class short course. He worked with golf icon Gary Player on a course that winds through the Ozark landscape, creating an extremely unique, and challenging, golf course. The 13-hole course, named Mountain Top, winds through stunning rock formations and provides excellent views of the Ozark Mountains along the way.
All three of these attractions will call the Branson Landing home, making your time at the entertainment complex that much more fun! The 7D Dark Ride Adventure is an interactive shooting adventure, while Arcade City mixes old school games with modern marvels and the mirror maze will have you seeing double.
Runaway Mountain Coaster merges Branson’s own hilly landscape to create a user-controlled coaster experience that’s totally one-of-a-kind. How does the ride work exactly? It starts with a cart being pulled to the top of a mountain (similar to a roller coaster). Then, once there, the carts are released, sending riders on a zooming, winding spin through the Ozark hills! As far as attractions that are new in Branson, this one is sure to be a favorite!
Attention thrill seekers! Big Foot on the Strip is for you. This massive tower features three activities:
A 200-foot freefall tower: Passengers are strapped into seats outside the tower and travel up its side to the top; there they’ll have a breathtaking view of the Branson Strip and the surrounding scenic wonder of the Ozarks before being released for a thrilling “free fall” back down the side of the tower.
Saddle Swing ride: Passengers are launched from the ground into the air, accelerating upward until they reach a max vertical height of about 150 feet; where they begin an exciting descent back to earth.
360 ° observation ride: Riders are seated in an enclosed gondola that gently rotates and rises to the top of the tower. At the top, it slowly rotates giving passengers that amazing view mentioned above, one that’s both unique and constantly changing, before being slowly lowered back to its starting point.
At the concourse for the attraction guests will find Branson’s only collection of food trucks. This means after your epic sightseeing adventure, you can fill up on food that is local-approved and made on-the-spot.
Snow tubing? In Branson? You bet! The weather doesn’t need to be frightful for visitors to have some snow-inspired fun. At Snowflex, the largest synthetic snow tubing hill in the United States, you can slide down an Ozark Mountain slope year-round. Even better, eight people can slide simultaneously. You know what that means? It’s race time!
Take a thrilling ride on Lake Taneycomo with Branson Jet Boats. Departing daily, this attraction takes guests on a one hour, 12 mile trip on the river where you learn about the area and get to experience some high-speed thrills like 360 spins, bow dunks, power slides, and more!
