Firemen chefs will light their fires and serve up some delicious chili during the event, where they will compete for thousands of dollars in prize money and the chance to bring home the Great Firehouse Chili Cook-off Championship title.
First place winner will receive $3,000; Second place will receive $2,000; and Third place will receive $1,000.
The public is invited to attend and sample the many different firehouse chili recipes. A select panel of judges will declare the cook-off winner at 4pm.
The Titanic Museum Attraction is also hosting its 3rd Annual Woodcarving Event on Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 10. Professional Woodcarvers from across the nation will compete in this year’s event. Events will take place in Titanic’s parking area, from 9am-6pm on Friday and Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sunday. A special 75-minute chainsaw speed-carving contest is also scheduled.
This free event seeks to honor the memory of the German passengers and crew who were aboard the Titanic. It is held in association with LogHoggers Chainsaw Sculpting.
