Silver Dollar City is planning on making 2014 a great year to Celebrate America! The theme park will host a year-long Americana celebration, along with a full line-up of new festivals and shows. Come along as we tell you what to expect in the New Year so you can start planning your vacation now.
The park will open March 14 and launch WorldFest, a popular event showcasing cultures from around the world, on April 5. WorldFest, known as “America’s Largest International Festival,” has added two new shows – “Benise!” and “Via Roman.” “Benise!” features Spanish guitarist Roni Benise, along with a group of musicians and dancers, performing class Spanish guitar rhythms. At “Via Roman” the melodic sounds of traditional gypsy music from Ukraine entrances visitors. A few of the attractions returning to the cultural festival include Amamos Argentina, Island Fire, and groups from Ireland, Ecuador and more.
Once WorldFest wraps up at Silver Dollar City Branson on May 4, Bluegrass & BBQ Festival is planned. From May 8-June 1, you can listen to top artists and award-winning performers throughout the park. The International Bluegrass Music Association’s Bluegrass Event of the Year includes stars such as Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Doyle Lawson & Quiksilver, Balsam Range, the Kruger Brothers and more. During this festival, the 13th Annual Youth in Bluegrass Band Contest is held and you can sample a variety of barbeque sauces and tasty backyard barbeque items served throughout the park.

Towards the end of August The Southern Gospel Picnic will replace Star Spangled Summer. From August 22-September 1 the Midwest’s largest gospel event is held at Silver Dollar City. Hundreds of Grammy and Dove award winners, and top gospel acts will perform. You can look forward to seeing The Booth Brothers, Jeff and Sherri Easter, The Isaacs, The Hoppers and many others.

The year will come to a close with An Old Time Christmas, slated for November 1-Deember 30. Many of the same traditions will continue at this annual festival. New additions, however, include the Holly Jolly Christmas Light Parade, featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Friends, who will be celebrating a 50th anniversary in 2014. Guest favorites like original shows “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Dickens’ Christmas Carol” will return, as will the Christmas on Main Street light and sound shows, a musical Living Nativity and many more holiday delights.
