Believe it or not, Ripley’s Museum in Branson, Missouri is celebrating 20 years of oddities and bizarre treasures in 2014. As a way of honoring that milestone, the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum has added an all-new, rather large new attraction – Optimus Prime. A statue of the leader of the Autobots from the film, TV and toy series “Transformers” is in prime position, guarding the entrance and waiting for your photo opportunity!
Over the years, a lot has been transformed within the Ripley’s Museum Branson but very little has changed on the outside. With the slogan “Odd is In” the tagline for 2014, those involved wanted to convey there’s a lot of bold, fun things to do at the museum – both inside and outside.
Superheroes are, of course, all the rage right now. So, in addition to the massive 19-foot tall Optimus Prime statue in front of the museum, which is made entirely of car parts, visitors will find a replica of Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk inside. Classic artifacts are still a mainstay of the museum. Robert Ripley, the namesake of the museum, was an explorer and adventurer who collected the odd and unusual. His passion is shared with guests today, and the museum still begs guests to answer the question “Do you believe it or not?”
