Plans Emerge for Veterans Freedom Fest in Branson

Branson is known for its unwavering support of veterans. There are several events planned throughout the year that honor veterans in Branson, including Veterans Homecoming Week in November. New details have just emerged regarding a new veteran’s event, slated for June.

Veterans Freedom Fest will be a four-day celebration in honor of our nations veterans. An opening ceremony with Bob Nichols is planned for June 9 and on June 11, a sporting clays shoot is planned at Ozark Shooters. Proceeds from the clays shoot will benefit Honor Flight, which sends World War II veterans to visit a memorial in Washing D.C. A closing ceremony is also in the works. Organizers are hoping Branson shows and Branson attractions will aid in the Freedom Fest by offering discounts and other incentives to veterans.
The Camden Hotel will hold a registration and veterans expo June 9-11 as well.
A four-day Vietnam veterans event is in the works for 2012 too, tentatively schedule for March 28-April, 2012. During that event the Veterans Memorial Museum will host a candlelight ceremony for veterans and will also host a Welcome Home Veterans Day Ceremony.
More information about these events will be released as it becomes available.
