Branson is a city known for its patriotism which makes it all the more fitting Lee Greenwood is set to perform at the Moon River Theatre. Greenwood, writer and singer of “God Bless the USA,” will play for two nights only – September 27 and 28.
Greenwood is a Grammy Award winner and Male Vocalist of the Year for both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. “God Bless the USA” was also awarded song of the year by the Country Music Association in 1985. He also has charted seven No. 1 hits in his career: “Somebody’s Gonna Love You”, “Going, Going, Gone”, “Dixie Road”, “I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose)”, “Don’t Underestimate My Love For You”, “Hearts Aren’t Made to Break (They’re Made to Love)”, and “Mornin’ Ride”. His 1983 single “I.O.U.” was also a top five hit on the adult contemporary charts, and a No. 53 on the Hot 100.
