The 3rd Annual Hand In Hand – Branson Honors Purple Heart Recipients event is scheduled for April 28-30, 2011 at the Hamner Barber Theater, home of the Hamner Barber Magical Variety Show.
One of the events scheduled is a special sneak peek of a new motion picture named Last Ounce of Courage
. The screening will take place on Saturday, April 30, at 9:30am. The picture is the inspirational story of a small town mayor, who is a decorated Vietnam veteran, who, along with his grandson, explores questions of freedom and sacrifice.
A few of the highlighted scheduled activities of the weekend include:
Opening Ceremonies will take place at the Hamner Barber Theater at 2pm on April 28. A special presentation on benefits for veterans, focusing on women veterans and families is planned, along with a question and answer segment.
On April 29, a free entertainment show will be performed at the Hamner Barber Theater in Branson
at 10am. A free fishing tournament is also planned at 1:30pm. Visitors must register for the vent at the opening ceremony, and from there 40 select individuals will be selected for this special day of free fishing. A Fish Fry is scheduled to start between 6pm-6:30pm. Purple Heart recipients are free. Other individuals are $10.
On April 30, along with the showing of a Last Ounce of Courage, a Purple Heart Motorcycle Run departs Branson at 1:45pm, and a closing ceremony will take place at 3pm at the Hamner Barber Theater. The special guest speaker for this year’s ceremony will be Colonel Michele Hovland, who is the Director of Intelligence and Communication for the Missouri Army National Guard.
