Disney’s The Little Mermaid Premiering Live in Branson this Summer

Disney_s_The_Little_Mermaid_(54674) Soon The Little Mermaid can become a “Part of Your World,” as the Broadway version of the Disney classic is set to perform in Branson summer 2015. Based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen, the show invites Branson visitors to join Disney princess Ariel and her sidekicks, Flounder and Sebastian, ‘Under the Sea’ as Ariel begins her quest to find her place in the world.

The stage musical is being produced by Country Club Entertainment, and directed by Missouri native Mike Crum. Crum was instrumental in bringing the visually stunning “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to Branson” over a decade ago, so he certainly has the chops to create a hit. The musical’s book is by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman (written for the film), with additional lyrics by Glenn Slater. The musical’s underwater setting and story about aquatic characters requires unusual technical designs and strategies to create gliding movements for the actors, all of which should be a delight to see live.

TThe_Little_Mermaid_(89979)he Little Mermaid Musical, which is being performed at The White House Theater, will open Memorial Day Weekend. Based on the Broadway version of the tale, audiences follow the adventures of Ariel as she finds herself trapped between the life underneath the sea and a new found love in Prince Eric and life on land. Ursula, the evil sea queen, doesn’t make her journey easy but pals Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle help her, however mischievously, as she finds her way.

In addition to Disney’s The Little Mermaid, “Disney Live” is currently in negotiations to visit Branson during the Christmas season. If secured, the show will bring Mickey, Minnie, Disney princesses and a dash of Disney magic to Branson.

TThe_Little_Mermaid_(59354)ickets for The Little Mermaid Broadway, which performs at 2:30pm and 7:30pm, are on sale now. Adult tickets are $45, and children/seniors are $35. The best deal is for the matinee ticket through Reserve Branson. Matinee tickets are currently 50% for all ages, which is a steal of a deal in Branson.

I, for one, cannot wait to see this Branson show. It’s just another reason to love summertime in Branson!
