Big Cedar Resort Adding Family-Friendly Golf Course

Branson will soon be home to another championship golf course.  Johnny Morris, owner of Top of the Rock and Big Cedar Lodge, has teamed with golf legend Gary Player to create a new golf course at Big Cedar Lodge in 2015.

Just this year, Big Cedar Lodge opened Buffalo Ridge, an 18-hole championship golf course previously known as Branson Creek Golf Course.  Originally designed by Tom Fazio in 1999, it has undergone a major renovation by Tom Fazio along with new owner, Johnny Morris, to revitalize the course with new water features, bunkers and other enhancements which include free ranging bison from near-by Dogwood Canyon Nature Park.  The Top of the Rock course, which is a Jack Nicklaus design par-3 golf course, is perched high above Table Rock Lake.  Its landscaping features peaceful waterfalls, wandering creeks, bass filled ponds and pristine lakes.  It’s a true celebration of nature and the Ozarks.

The new course helmed by Gary Player will have 12-holes, and will be deigned in a very gun, inviting way in order to appeal to the most novice of players.  Non-traditional concepts will create a course the whole family will enjoy.  Big Cedar Lodge’s family appeal is the inspiration behind the new golf course.  Families flock to this Ozark haven, and now, when this new course opens, they can be introduced to the sport of golf in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Widely recognized as the world’s most successful golf course architectural firm, Gary Player Design established by Marc Player in 1983 has completed over 325 championship courses spanning the globe. With an ever-increasing number of courses stretching across five continents and encompassing more than 35 countries, the firm is renowned for its select and ecological approach to design.
