Branson’s most fun place to eat, Dixie Stampede, is celebrating 20 years as part of the Branson show scene.  Still one of the most popular attractions in the area, the show has a broad appeal that keeps guests returning and new visitors seeking out the show for the first time.  Plus, since the experience includes dinner and a show many people find a real value in attending the show.

Dixie Stampede Branson strives to make the show a family-friendly event – one where multi-generational families can come together for a good time.  Interactive competitions and a friendly rivalry between North and South create a unique show where visitors participate, cheer and stampede their feet to usher their side to victory.  With 32 horse, dozens of talented cast members and a lot of action, the 35,000 square-foot arena can host over 1,000 attendees.  The show continually updates the production, so there’s always something new to see too.  For instance, to celebrate their 20thanniversary the Roman Ride of Fire has been completely revamped for a bigger and better trick riding display.

Of course, one of the undeniable highlights of the Dixie Stampede is the delicious dinner.  Go to the show hungry as a full feast of a whole rotisserie chicken, hickory smoked pork loin, creamy vegetable soup, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes, biscuits and an apple turnover is served.  Worried about the horses kicking up dust during your meal?  Don’t be.  The arena uses a special sand and clay combination that makes the environment virtually dust-free, even when the horses are stomping around.

Purchase Dixie Stampede tickets to see why this show has been a Branson tradition for 20 years!

Are you ready to get a bird’s eye view of Branson?  With the opening of an all-new zipline at the Branson Landing, visitors are invited to fly high for a scenic shot of the area.  Ziplines are very popular in the Ozarks, but Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline is different from the rest.  Read on to find out why.

Parakeet Pete’s Zipline takes guest on a high-flying ride over Lake Taneycomo.  The ride is safe, secure and unlike most ziplines it features a seat.   When riders take their place in side-by-side seats, they’ll be strapped in and take on one of two ziplines.  With two lines in place, up to four people van ride at once.  Plus, since there are no harnesses or handling of cables, the process is an easy one and not challenging for those young or old.  Since you get to sit down during your ride, you can leisurely enjoy the zip experience.
Riders will board at Parakeet Pete’s Branson Landing location, then ride to the apex of Mount Branson.  Once they reach the top, they’ll descend back to the landing.  As the zipline is more ski lift than zipline, everyone can ride making it an engaging addition to the Landing.  Riders can easily hop, dine and zip with Parakeet Pete during their visit to the entertainment complex.
Want to ride?  Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline is located across from Famous Dave’s Barbeque Restaurant.  Perfect for families and large groups, this zip offers guests an excellent experience.  Please note this two-person seat ride has a weight limit of 450 combined pounds, and a minimum height of 42 inches or 3.5 feet is required.

Believe it or not, Ripley’s Museum in Branson, Missouri is celebrating 20 years of oddities and bizarre treasures in 2014.  As a way of honoring that milestone, the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum has added an all-new, rather large new attraction – Optimus Prime.  A statue of the leader of the Autobots from the film, TV and toy series “Transformers”  is in prime position, guarding the entrance and waiting for your photo opportunity!

Over the years, a lot has been transformed within the Ripley’s Museum Branson but very little has changed on the outside.  With the slogan “Odd is In” the tagline for 2014, those involved wanted to convey there’s a lot of bold, fun things to do at the museum – both inside and outside.

Superheroes are, of course, all the rage right now.  So, in addition to the massive 19-foot tall Optimus Prime statue in front of the museum, which is made entirely of car parts, visitors will find a replica of Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk inside.  Classic artifacts are still a mainstay of the museum.  Robert Ripley, the namesake of the museum, was an explorer and adventurer  who collected the odd and unusual. His passion is shared with guests today, and the museum still begs guests to answer the question “Do you believe it or not?”

A weekend anniversary celebration is planned.  Details will be provided once they’ve been announced.

Have you ever been involved in a roller coaster race?  Come this fall in Branson, Missouri you can be a part of the family travel experience at Silver Dollar City.  Held in conjunction with The Rollercoaster Race Company, it is scheduled for October 11-12, 2014.

Silver Dollar City’s Rollercoaster Race will feature other componenets as well, including a traditional hald marathon and 5K race.  You may be asking your self what the rollercoaster race means exactly?  It works similarly to a tradtional 5K race.  Participants will be given an indenifcation wrist band and distance will be tracked via score card.  At the end of the day, those who reach five kilometers on a roller coaster will receive a medal.

The concept is definitley a different one, but I like it.  Using the coaster tracks as mileage generators for the particpants makes it easy and fun for families to do.  This year’s event is already looking to be a popluar one.

Kapau Plummet is officially open at White Water! The Branson theme park will be the hot spot for adrenaline rushes and aquatic splashes, as the new ride promises top rate thrills.  Riders drop up to 26 feet per second as they slide down one of two 240-foot slides.  Sound like fun?  Read on for more details.

One of the reasons Kapau Plummet is such a rush is the floor drop.  Yes, you read that right.  As you stand in front of one of the two enclosed slides, a countdown begins until the floors drops!  This creates an outstanding freefall as you loop through the translucent tube slides until you splash down at the bottom.
The acrylic, translucent slides add a unique element.  When you’re preparing for your fall, you’ll be able to see where you’re falling.  Guests inside the park will also be able to see as people slip and slide through the tubes of Kapau Plummet.  With all of the components, I can easily see why this is White Water’s best thrill yet.  The name Kapau, which loosely means “The Next Big Thing” in Hawaiian, describes the ride perfectly.  See for yourself this summer at White Water Branson!
