Branson is booming with new attractions, several of which feature ziplines. Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours at Wolfe Creek Preserve are already open, and the Shepherd of the Hills will be opening its Vigilante ZipRider on June 12, 2010.

The Shepherd of the Hills Vigilante ZipRider was scheduled to open Memorial Day Weekend, but heavy rains delayed work on the new attraction.
The Vigilante Extreme ZipRider won’t be like traditional ziplines; it will be more like a ride. On a traditional zipline, the carriage that holds the rider in place has to come off and be reset after each run. The ZipRider has a patented trolley retrieval system, so with the push of a button, the seats are brought back up to the tower.
The design of the new Shepherd of the Hills attraction will have guests traveling to the top of Inspiration Tower to the observation deck, where they will proceed to the open-air observation deck. From there, one of four ziplines await to send guests sailing across the 160 acre park at speeds of more than 50mph. Guests will ascend to the opposite side of the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theater, one half-mile away.
The Branson ZipRider location will feature the highest starting point of any Zip Rider attraction, as the starting point is 203 feet up in the air, atop Inspiration Tower. There are currently 10 other ZipRider attractions open in the world.
The Shepherd of the Hills Vigilante ZipRider will cost $28.64 per person for the first ride, and each additional trip will cost $20.

Dinosaurs have invaded Branson! And goblins, ghouls and ghosts are running rampant on the famous Hwy. 76 Boulevard.

Of course, this is true…but only if you visit the Branson Dinosaur Museum and Haunted House complex, one of the new Branson attractions that offers combo passes and discount Branson tickets.
The Branson Dinosaur Museum takes up half of the 24,000 square-foot building and features 50 life-sized, full body dinosaurs, educational films, a movie room, learning station, children’s play area and a place to dig for fossils created for the little ones. The dinosaur displays were constructed by paleoartists and cost around $2.5 million.
There is also a gift shop and bounce house located in the lobby of the attraction.
While the Branson Dinosaur Museum is geared towards children and families, the Haunted House and Monster Asylum portion of the attraction is geared more towards teens and adults, although there are no age restrictions. Visitors will travel through an Ozark Cemetery, various crypts, an insane asylum, the ghostly castle and other scary stops.

The Haunted House features some of the most cutting edge animatronics you’ll find. There are numerous gargoyles and monsters, as well as a nightmarish hall of sinister screen legends. A word of warning: If you have a clown phobia, close your eyes as you exit!

Admission to the Dinosaur Museum is $8.95 for adults and $6.96 for children. Admission to the Haunted House and Monster Asylum is $12.95 for adults and $9.95 for teenagers. One Day Combo passes are available as well, with adult combo passes priced at $17.95, $14.95 for teenagers and $12.95 for children.

The live music show capital – Branson – has a lot to sing about these days. Two of the flagship attractions, Silver Dollar City and Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama, celebrate 50 years in Branson in 2010. Plus, the vacation destination is still a top place to see great shows like The Presleys, The Baldknobbers, Shoji Tabuchi and Yakov Smirnoff.

The song “Listen to the Music” by the Doobie Brothers has become the theme song for Branson and many will recognize the tune from the nationally televised Branson commercials. To celebrate the variety of live Branson shows available to visitors, the Branson Landing – a 95-acre waterfront dining, shopping, and entertainment complex – has added a new show to their $7.5 million fountain spectacular showcasing “Listen to the Music.”
Visitors to the Branson Landing will now be able to hear the Doobie Brothers classic set to water, fire and lights for a magnificent production you’ll only see in Branson. Officials with the Branson Landing stated the addition was a great way to showcase what the Midwest vacation destination was about and what the city has to offer.
