Two Branson Golf Courses have been honored with the distinction of “America’s Best New Courses for 2010” by Golfweek Magazine.

The Payne Stewart Golf Club, designed by Chuck Smith, and John Daly’s Murder Rock Golf and Country Club were honored by hundreds of “Golfweek’s Best” raters who visited and reviewed coursed around the United States. Courses were examined and ranked according to their overall strength of routing, feature shaping, natural setting, greens, hole variety and memorability, conditioning maintenance, landscape management and other factors.
The 18-hole championship golf course at Murder Rock Golf and Country Club was designed by Landmark Land Company, Inc. It highlights the beautiful Ozark countryside and incorporates the natural terrain of the area while providing panoramic vistas to golfers. The full-service clubhouse sits atop the property’s highest point, providing a great place to grab a lunch in between rounds.
The Payne Stewart Golf Club is dedicated to the life and legacy of Missouri’s own Payne Stewart. The unique course takes golfers through a series of memories, with each hole defining one of Stewart’s traits of style, character and experiences on the PGA tour. The clubhouse at the Payne Stewart Golf Club is a finely appointed facility that showcases memorabilia from Stewart’s major championship and Ryder Cup winning career. The museum-like aspect of the clubhouse also features Stewart’s trademark outfits, golf shoes and numerous pictures and paintings of the golf pro.
Other award winning golf courses in the Branson area include LedgeStone Golf Course and Branson Creek Golf Club, which was ranked the #1 course in Missouri by GOLF Magazine and rated by Golf Digest as one of the Top 100 public-access courses in the nation.
