In the months of September and October, Branson is welcoming three country legends. Roy Clark will perform at the Tri-Lakes Center September 14, 24, 25 & 26 and October 1, 2, 3, 22, 23 & 24. Ray Price will also be taking the stage at the Tri-Lakes Center in Branson on September 17, 18 & 19, as well as October 8, 9 & 10. The Welk Resort welcomes Lee Greenwood & the Bellamy Brothers September 14-26 (except Sundays) & September 29 & 30, as well as October 1-24 (excluding Oct. 5 & Sundays).

Roy Clark is well-known country music performer who was one of the first country music stars to open his own venue in Branson, Missouri. The theater, known as the Roy Clark Celebrity Theater, is now owned by the Hughes Brothers. However, Roy Clark’s talent as both a guitarist and banjo player have brought him back to Branson, where he’ll entertain show-goers with hits like “Yesterday, When I was Young” & “Thank God & Greyhound” along with his signature comedy that was showcased on the hit show Hee-Haw. Ray Price has been a country music star since the 1950’s. Known as The Cherokee Cowboy, Price has had success with hits like “Danny Boy,” “For the Good Times,” “Release Me,” “She Wears My Ring,” “Heartaches by the Number” and “Crazy Arms.” Ray Price is a true classic country music performer, and his limited engagement in Branson is sure to sell out fast. Country greats Lee Greenwood & the Bellamy Brothers are back in Branson for an engagement at the Welk Resort Theater. Greenwood will showcase songs like “Dixie Road,” “Ring on her Finger, Time on her Hands,” and “God Bless the USA.” The Bellamy Brothers will bring “Let Your Love Flow,” “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold it Against Me)” and “Redneck Girl.” Lee Greenwood & the Bellamy Brothers tickets are on sale now.

The Shoji Tabuchi Theatre has been voted the nation’s best restrooms, according to the 8th annual “America’s Best Restroom Contest” presented by Cintas Corporation. The winner was decided by an online ballot.

The 2009 contest attracted a wide variety of nominees ranging from restaurants to hotels to theaters. The top ten finalists that were selected were based on criteria like exceptional hygiene, style and open access to the public.

Regarding the results, Tabuchi Theatre manager Michael Frederick stated, “We believe these restrooms are the most elaborate and ornate anywhere. Each restroom represents 1,800 square feet of deliberate, one-of-a-kind elegance.”

Beginning September 1st, Andy Williams will return to the Moon River Theatre for the Andy Williams All Star Variety Show in Branson, MO. This one-month engagement will feature a number of acts, including the husband and wife dance team of Pasha & Aliona, the dancing and singing talents of The Warnock Family, comedian Joe Trammel and the tap dancing duo of The Williams Brothers. The show will run through September 30 with performances Monday through Saturday with performances at 2pm & 7pm. Andy Williams All Star Variety Show tickets are available now.

The Moon River Theatre is also home to The Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley and Paul Revere and The Raiders, as well as Bill Haley’s Original Comets. The Comets will be on a brief break during the month of September, so the Andy Williams All Star Variety Show and The Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley and Paul Revere and the Raiders will alternate performances, with Williams offering matinees on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and evening performances on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Medley & Revere will do evenings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and matinees on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Andy Williams will return to The Moon River Theatre November 2nd for the Andy Williams Christmas Show extravanganza.

Another great Silver Dollar City festival is scheduled for the end of August. The Southern Gospel Picnic Festival presents the top performers in gospel music, along with delicious home-cooked style food. The festival features 12 days of fantastic music, including performances by Dove Award winners, Hall of Famers, newcomers and several top recording artists. From August 27 – September 7, there will be over 300 musical performances at Silver Dollar City, so any day is a great day to venture to the City.

Traditional artists that will be spotlighted include Dove Award winners The Kingsmen, Gold City, Brian Free & Assurance and The Booth Brothers. Popular groups like Jeff & Sheri Easter, Karen Peck and New River and Mike & Kelly Bowling will also appear. More contemporary artists include The Isaacs and Austins Bridge, while crowd favorites the Reggie Saddler Family, as well as the Dixie Melody Boys, Tim Lovelace, Legacy Five, The Downing Family, Mark Bishop and many more are scheduled to appear.

Worship services are scheduled for September 6, and will feature The Lesters, as well as a minister/humorist Dr. Dennis Swanberg.

Of course, the Southern Gospel portion of the festival wouldn’t be complete without the delicious picnic fixings that can be found at The House of Chicken and Fixin’s and The Picnic Wagon, which are located on The Square. You’ll have to try the double-battered southern fried chicken, smoked barbeque chicken, apple glazed chicken and all of the signature accoutrements that make a southern style picnic finger-licking good!

During the Southern Gospel Picnic Festival, Silver Dollar City is open form 10am-6pm. On September 5-6, the park is open form 9am-7pm. Performances throughout the day are followed by Southern Gospel Nights concerts each evening in the park’s 4,000-seat amphitheater.

The 21st Annual Downtown Branson Fiddle Festival is scheduled for August 28-30, 2009, along the shores of beautiful Lake Taneycomo. Celebrating the heritage and history of the Ozarks, the Fiddle Festival pays homage to an art that is near and dear to the Ozarks.

This year’s festival will also feature the Mid-American Fiddlers Championship.

The event kicks off Friday night, August 28, with bluegrass legends Big Smith. They will perform at 8pm in the front of the fountains at Branson Landing, and the concert is free and open to the public. Saturday, August 29, the competition will begin with preliminary heats, scheduled for 10am-7pm. After a gospel service on Sunday, at 10am, the finals will begin at noon and last until 5pm. The competition portion of the event will take place at the same location as the Big Smith concert.

More than $5000 in cash prizes will be awarded to winners, who will compete in six divisions: Pee Wee (ages 9 and younger,) Junior (10-16,) Senior (60 and older,) Cross Tuning, Seconding (guitar/bass accompaniment) and Open. All division winners, with the exception of Cross Tuning and Seconding, will also compete Sunday afternoon for the Grand Prize title.

An Ozarks Music and Culture tent will also be available in Branson’s historic downtown area, located just up the street from the Branson Landing. It will feature seminars, a farmers market, street performances and sidewalk sales.

The entirety of this event is FREE. It is FREE to watch and FREE to enter.
