The Shepherd of the Hills Super Summer Cruise is moving to a new location. For 2009, the Summer Cruise will not be held on West 76 Country Boulevard. Instead, it will be located on the actual Shepherd of the Hills expressway, shortening the cruise length, as well as the amount of places to park and check out all of the classic cars. Many are on the fence regarding this decision, but Branson Police Chief Carroll McCullough stated that it was made in conjunction with city officials and Shepherd of the Hills. The decision was the result of concerns voiced over the ability to patrol the cruise when it stretches along 3 miles of Hwy. 76.

However, this year’s event is scheduled to be another great event for car lovers and it will include annual events like Show’n’Shine, with over 500 trucks on display at The Shepherd of the Hills Historic Homestead, and the Midnight Cruise, which will feature a parade of vehicles down the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.

The rally point for all cars participating in the cruise will be the Celebration City parking lot, just off of Hwy. 376.

The Wheelmobile will be located in the parking lot of the Welk Resort Theatre from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, taking applications and conducting interviews with randomly selected participants.
