Thundering Stampede Highlights Unique Dinner Attraction. THEY’RE BACK! Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede takes you on a wild ride highlighted by a thunderous stampede of longhorn steer. Plus, New for 2009, “Skeeter’s BIG Event”, a comedic surprise of BIG proportion! Audiences are treated to a live and up-close experience with the herd of authentic longhorns, each weighing up to 1800 pounds with a horn span of six to eight feet from tip to tip. Highlights include a poignant appearance by a American Indian medicine man who calls upon the “Spirit of the Bird,” revealing a spectacular aerialist soaring high above the arena, complete with new music and lighting created especially for this moving performance. The show features 32 magnificent horses, trick riding and special effects, plus a fabulous four-course feast. |

Is there a pre-show guests should be aware of at the Dixie Stampede?
Yes. The Comedy of David Lucas is the pre-show for the 2009 season. It features juggling, banjo picking and hilarious comedy. The pre-show begins 50 minutes before the scheduled show time so 4:40 for the 5:30pm show, and 7:10 for the 8:00pm show.
Are visitors allowed to meet & greet the performers at the Dixie Stampede Show?
Riders & horses stay at the rail after the show to greet guests and sign autographs. The horses are also available throughout the day at the Dixie Stampede Horsewalk.
Are cameras, audio or video recording allowed at the show?
No, none of the above items are allowed. The Dixie Stampede has a team of professional photographers on-site though, and they take your group’s photo at the beginning of your Dixie Stampede experience.
What type of meal is served at the Dixie Stampede Show?
The fabulous four-course feast includes homemade biscuit, original creamy vegetable soup, whole rotisserie chicken, hickory smoked barbecue pork loin, corn on the cob, herb basted potato wedges, apple turnover for dessert, plus all the coffee, tea, or Pepsi you like. Vegetarian meals are available by special request. Advance notice is required.
What is the length of your intermission?
There is no intermission at the Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show. However, there is a 15 minute break between the Carriage Room pre-show & the main arena spectacular.
What is the size of the Dixie Stampede Theater?
The theater is 35,000 square feet.

The theater features arena-seating and there are 6 rows total.

What type of parking do you have?
The parking is all level. Group drop off, motorcoach & handicapped parking is located right up front. General parking allows guests to stroll the beautiful horsewalk and meet the 4-legged stars of the show.
What type of handicap seating/accessibility do you have?
Level handicap seating is available near our restrooms. Wireless headsets and ASL interpreters are available for hearing impaired guests. Advance notice is required.
Does Dolly Parton visit the Dixie Stampede?
Yes, she does visit, although her visits are somewhat sporadic. Don’t count on seeing Dolly when you visit, but if you do see her, feel extra special that you did!
