The dinner was very good home cookin comfort food. The entertainment was decent, the entertainers have talent, but the show is on the level with the amusement park that provides the venue. There's not much time to enjoy the boat ride, they seat you, shove off, feed you, give you 15 minutes to walk the deck, and then the show starts & you dock. I would not and did not pay full price for this.
I have now been on the Showboat at least 7 times, lost count. This speaks to its quality that I continue to return. This was the best show to date, which speaks to their commitment to entertain with excellence and always improve. I think it was the best because of the mix of 29 movie show-tunes. The performers seem to enjoy what they do and the menu has been perfected from 3 times daily serving. It is amazing the volume of food served efficiently, always warm and tasty, especially love the spring peas! There is fun shopping at the dock and lots of photo opts. The MC, Christopher James, is the best--witty, funny, quick and talented magician, "the best part of the show." One will leave uplifted due to the wholesome entertainment and good people; be sure to read the bio slideshow. And then there is this beautiful lake as the background.
We had a blast on the showboat! Excellent meal, the food was amazing, our waiter Joshua was top notch, and private dining was worth it just to have Joshua wait on our table. The cruise was nice, and the show was a lot of fun! great variety, lots of talent, and very kind people on the showboat! Will make this a regular stop when we come back to Branson! Loved it!
We were on the evening dinner cruise so there was no scenery to be seen and in fact the boat simply 'cruised' in circles the whole evening. The action was inside where the magician/ comedian/MC, Christopher, keeps things light and moving. He has done the show more than 4000 times but still has his "favorites". Just a tip, don't be using your cell phone during his performance or you may end up onstage and your phone elsewhere--by magic. Cassandre had the best female voice we heard in Branson. I was not expecting the dancers to be cloggers but they were all champions and good at their craft. The meal on the boat was tasty but not particularly memorable. Like most of Branson, no alcohol is served.
