We had a great time at the show!! The food and service was great. For the pre show there was a juggler. He was amazing, funny, and offered good, clean family fun! We enjoyed him as much as, if not more than, the main show. Fair pricing, but would like better parking or shuttles.
Tip: Be prepared to eat with your hands and if you don't get there early be ready to walk through the parking lot

"Feel "dirt" is placing horses in respiratory distress."
Reviewed January, 2015
My son took us to see the Christmas show in 2007 for an anniversity present! What a wonderful experience! I told soo many people about the amazing show and the food! I was impressed by the servers running in front of us to keep the REAL dirt from flying up and getting into our food or hitting us. The horses seemed to really enjoy running, tho, the arena is quite small to allow them to go full "throttle". Their ears were up and tails were swaying! Every Christmas there after, I was begging my husband to take me again! FINALLY, for our 30th anniversity in 2014, he agreed! I could not wait! I bought tickets and reserved a hotel room and looked for other shows, since we were going to spend the ENTIRE Thanksgiving weekend there. We arrived at the Dixie Stampede very early and was able to be there when the horses were brought into their stalls. I told my husband that I believed one of the horses was having respiratory issues (he was breathing very hard, but was not sweaty and had been in the stall for around 30 or so minutes). As we stood there, my concern mounted and I voiced it to a "worker/performer" and he just glanced into the stall and walked away without saying ANYTHING to me ("thank you for bringing it to my attention", etc). Later, a performer brought her horse into another stall and his nostrils were very big and he kept sneezing. I also brought this to the attention of my husband. As we continued to stand there, other horses were brought into their stalls doing the same thing! We attended the pre-show and it was very good. Finally, we were allowed to get to our seats in the arena. I noticed right away the "dirt"! Watching the show, I could see the horses were ALL in distress! Their ears were back and breathing extremely hard, completely different than the show in 2007! The wagon tracks showed the "dirt" to be very deep and it appeared to be very fine. I could not enjoy the show for the worry of the horses being in distress! In the 2007 show, the horse's ears were up and they did not breath so hard. They appeared to really enjoy what they were doing! In the 2014 show, it was the complete opposite! Will I go back? No. I just feel the "dirt" is causing the animals distress and until this is proven to be false and an explanation for the reason the animals were in such distress is answered, then, I will continue to tell people my thoughts and what I witnessed. I understand there are people who are allergic or are afraid of being hit by a small piece of dirt and my suggestion to those people are to find something else to do! I believe the "dirt" to be so fine that the horses (being closer to the ground than riders and running behind other horses) breath this into their lungs, which could be causing serious longterm health issues. It was so obvious to watch the horses entering the arena! They did not want to go! Immediately, their ears were back and a few were even foaming at the mouth after galloping in the arena during a performance! So, different than 2007! In 2007, the horses entered the arena with ears up! I had even remarked to my family in 2007, that I believed the horses enjoyed the spotlight and clapping! They really appeared to love what they were doing! So unlike the show in 2014! The food was good, tho our server was EXTREMELY pregnant and was slow to keep up with the other servers, but she did do an amazing job in the small area she had to work in! I am giving 1 star due to the distress of the horses, tho, I would give 4 stars for the food and 5 stars for our very pregnant server!

Tickets to the Dixie Stampede Christmas Dinner and Show were presents to my entire family from me and everyone absolutely loved it. The entertainment, nativity scene, delicious meal and whooping and hollering were just what we needed to complete our holiday celebrations. My husband was lucky enough to be selected for the "horseshoe" toss. And he won! Great fun, thanks to very many hard working people - and horses! And pigs:-)

We had a wonderful time at the Dixie Stampede Christmas Dinner & Show. This is the first time we had been to the Christmas show, and it brought tears to our eyes to see the Nativity Scene, it was so life-like and was such a beautiful reminder of the BLESSED event of the baby Jesus' birth! I felt my Mother's appreciation when she placed her hand in mine!!
Tip: That no pictures can be taken in the during the show, and that the drinks cost during the pre-show, we thought everything was included in the price of the show!

We loved the Dixie Stampede Christmas Dinner & Show. We had the fortune to see the regular Dixie Stampede a couple of years ago and we were truly amazed at how the Christmas Dinner & Show gave us new memories to talk about for the rest of our life. Our grandson at six years old, really enjoyed the show as he takes horse riding lessons back home and the Christmas Spirit was in the air.

This place is quite an experience. Expert exhibition of horse riding and so many other skills of life on the prairie to the mountain west. It tells the story of westward expansion from horseback to the Connestoga wagon train. Its a great show young and old alike with comedy, riding skills and live animals in the arena. Bring your appitite because there's plenty of food served very efficiently. There is no bad seat in the house. Go early though to catch the free pre show, its a hoot.
