"Love but failed on one aspect."
August, 2016
My family had an amazing time at the Welks resort! It was not far from down town everyone was very friendly! The splash-a-torium is the icing on the cake but let me warn you the water IS FREEEEEZING! Of course it didn't bother my kids but it was way to cold for me which is crazy because I LOVE swimming but this was just miserable cold so I was very thankful for the hot tubs they had! The rooms are very small which made it difficult for us to find places for our luggage but we managed just fine. The bathroom on the other hand was super spacious and had tons of counter space! The only other problem we had was our room not ever getting cleaned by house keeping. We come in at 2 everyday to lay our kids down for a nap & house keeping had never been by for the 3 days we went there so for 3 days we had our trash taken out & that was it. It would have been nice for them to have focused on cleaning the rooms for their guests that we're currently staying in first and then cleaned the rooms that people had checked out of last. All in all it was a nice place to stay. Would probably stay here again but would have to talk to a manager about our previous experience of not getting rooms cleaned.
Tip: Don't expect your room to be clean before 4pm. Water at splashatorium is FREEZING COLD even in 100 degree heat!

"Family Vacation"

We loved this resort and will definitely tell others and stay here again in the future. It was so kid friendly, yet, things for adults to do as well. The resort was located in a spot where you could miss all of the main traffic and still get to all of the hot spots fairly quick. Two thumbs up...
Tip: Bring swimming suits and prepare to have fun....

It took little time to find the resort, but once we found it ,it was great. After a long hard day a Silver Dollar City, it was great to take the grandkids to the pool acre.
Tip: Great place to stay, just keep looking for the Welk Resort .

"Great indoor fun!"
July, 2015
We picked a rainy weekend to travel to Branson and our White Water plans had to be cancelled. It was great to be able to allow my kids to get some water time! They had a blast while I enjoyed the jacuzzi. And the staff was very nice and helpful.

Very nice hotel. Rooms were cozy, towels were soft, bed was pretty comfortable compared to other places I have stayed. My children (8 & 9) had a blast at the indoor swimming facility. Staff was friendly. We only stayed one night so we did not experience much here but we will be back!

"Mediocre hotel, decent indoor water park for kids, rooms show some age"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed February 15, 2017 NEW
I've stayed at the Welk twice. The first time about 12 years ago, and then December 2016. This second time, our room was showing some serious signs of age. While clean, there were some stains here and there on the walls and carpet. The bathroom needed some touchup repairs here and there. For $116 a night, I was very disappointed with the rooms themselves. The splash park is great for kids. It has slides, hot tubs, fountains, and more. The fitness center is decent and there's a nice reading / recreation room with ping pong tables and such. The hotel staff was friendly, though lacking in customer service quality or helpfulness. Most of my questions were only half way answered and they never seemed to want to "go above and beyond". I felt the staff at the Welk was lazy and spoiled. The location is fantastic! It's very close to the fish hatchery, and easy drive (quick and smooth) to Silver Dollar City and very close to Danna's BBQ & Burger Shop (#4 restaurant in Branson). Breakfast WAS not included. My brother, son and nephew all were invited in, sat down, ate and then billed. We were not told until after the fact that breakfast was not included! Out of five . . . . . . Rooms = 2 Service = 1 Water park = 4 location = 4

"Stay in conjunction with time share preview"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

I will preface this by saying I schnuckered my husband and I into this time share preview by drinking too much wine at a women's expo. That being said, it did give us a good excuse for a long weekend away. We took the youngest one of our 4 kids with us. As part of the preview reservation we booked a two night stay ($169 + tax) at the resort hotel. Having four kids, we're no strangers of vacation and have stayed at a myriad of decent places. My impression walking in the door was "this is ok". The lobby was clean and of decent decor. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. They boasted about the breakfast buffet for only $5.99 for adults, mini golf, and the big indoor splash-a-torium (more on these later). Nothing over the top or world class resort-esque though. The room was clean and average decor. A few turn offs: bathtub plug wouldn't stay sealed making for a complicated child's bath. Housekeeping staff stacked full trashbags in the hallway outside their supply door. After our first night we made our way down to the not so fabulous breakfast buffet. To get to the restaurant you walk outside under a covered and seemingly aged awning with lots of what looked like extension cords dangling everywhere. There's a small play area here for young children. At the other end, just outside the restaurant entrance is the "World Championship" mini golf course. Not sure what gives it that distinction as I didn't think there was much to it. 9 holes. Would've thought it might be bigger and more elaborate for the size of the resort. To get into the restaurant you had to walk through a gift shop. Once inside you had to wait to be seated with no true hostess on duty (kind of like at Steak and Shake). Once seated we were waited on by a very friendly server. I'm going to say this about the food though...you can get the exact same and I do mean exact same thing (make your own waffle, fake eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, etc) for free at other hotel chains. Essentially you are paying for decent dinner ware and service. Both of which, I can do without for that type of meal. The place was very quiet and the decor of the restaurant made me think of the 80's. The splash-a-torium was fairly nice but not the huge conglomeration they made it sound like and certainly seems like it would get very cramped during the busy season. There is a large indoor/outdoor pool. The outdoor portion was closed off. They had warm water circulating in the pool but it was still chilly due to the inability to shut the outside out 100%. There is one waterslide, a small fountain/splash area, and one hot tub inside. There was a hot tub outside as well. During our time share preview we got to see the lodge villas. They were very nice. Would've been nice to look at the closer but felt rushed through them. And the sales pitch ends right there at the preview. No option for one to take info home to mull it over. Makes you wonder... All in all, a decent but not profound experience. But was glad for the get away all the same.

The Splash-A-Torium was smaller than thought. The rooms were clean, but to have a refrigerator but no microwave was disappointing.Carpet is worn. Had to go down four floors to cook in one. Customer service was very friendly. No free breakfast and you have to walk to the restaurant that wasn't opened either. Not a lot of restaurants close by. It was nice going in February with very little traffic. Sure hope they get all the construction on Hwy 76 done before their season starts up. All in all I don't think I would stay at this hotel again due to proximity of not much to do or eat.
