Southern Oaks Inn is a 141 room hotel/motel located on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, across the street from the Shoji Tabuchi Theatre. We are a family owned and operated hotel that was recently featured on the Travel Channel's “Hotel Impossible.” The host of the show, Anthony Melchiorri was impressed to see the cleanliness of our rooms, our wonderful pools, and friendly staff. This was a very positive experience for our staff and we love the newly renovated lobby.

You’ll rest well at our Branson Hotel in our spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Our dedicated housekeeping staff prides itself on the cleanliness of our rooms.

Southern Oaks Inn offers a variety of guest rooms to meet your needs. Our hotel rooms have one king-size or two queen-size beds. All rooms have color cable television and direct dial phones with free local calling to anywhere in Branson, Missouri.

No bedbugs, but hole in the wall in one room and no working AC. The other room had AC but couldn't turn down. It was dirty and dark in the hallways. We also had trouble with the front desk with payment issues. The employees we sent had to leave before breakfast since it was not until 7:00. I am the secretary that made the reservations so felt bad that the experience was not pleasant.

Room was very clean and very large. Bed was comfortable. There was a mini fridge in the room. The air conditioner worked well. I had a corner room and even though there were a lot of people staying there, it was quiet. Breakfast was OK..biscuits/gravy...eggs, waffles, juice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Outdoor pool was not open but neither were the ones at other hotels in the area.

Tip: There is not an elevator, but the stairs were not too bad because you go up a few and there is a landing.

We were down in D building near the indoor pool. The room was surprisingly nice for a cheap hotel. The indoor pool was nice but definitely was not actually 5 ft deep. There are balconies off of the pool. Not far from main strip.
Breakfast was packed and not worth the effort.

For reasons unknown, all of the big chain hotels were fully booked so stayed here and found it reasonable and fair priced. The king sized bedroom was comfortable but the blankets and sheets were not starched and as crisp as we are accustomed to but acceptable. The “split air conditioning unit was a bit noisy but did chill down the room effectively. The room was clean and the carpet was well padded. The bathroom was very small and the shower head worked very well. Our room was close to the indoor pool so until 8:30pm there kids and their parents and the expected noise was as expected. They offer a free breakfast was below average. They offered two kinds of cereal, fresh fruit cocktail, biscuits and white gravy that was bland. They also had a waffle maker that was popular as well as toast and small breakfast size muffins. They only had one ice machine working and that was at the front desk area which you would need to drive your car to if you were located at the back of the hotel. For the money it was an easy choice and if the same circumstances arises again I would stay here.

We were looking for a room with recliner for my elderly grandmother. Their online pictures indicate their King rooms have recliners standard. The online pricing for two rooms for 2 nights: $172.80. When I called to ensure the king rooms indeed had recliners the gentleman I spoke to indicated they did but their rooms are 79.99 per night equaling $319.96 before taxes...... Does anyone see a problem here? That is a $147.16 difference. I'm so glad I called. I feel sorry for the folks that book online only to get there and be bullied in to paying twice the amount they were anticipating!!!! So for anyone needing a recliner go to the Lodge at the Falls, they move a recliner in for you for $10 per night and its still nicer and cheaper than Southern Oaks Inn!!!!

We checked in to the hotel and less than 30 minutes we noticed there were a lot of bugs in the bed. I went down to the office and told them to credit my card I was leaving. they offered to change rooms, I declined. Then she said she couldn't credit my card at the time. Had to have proof that there were bugs. She kept calling someone to come to our room so I went and removed our stuff from the room. Asked her if she knew somewhere else to stay, was not offered any help or apology. Gentleman told me to come to hotel 2 over and I could get a room. Called the next day to see if they credited my card and if I could get credit receipt. He said he had it and I could pick it up still no apology. Never again will I stay there

The room was dirty including the bathtub indicating it had not been cleaned or maintained, The room was musty smelling and the on-line pictures were deceiving. The room was next to the pool which mads it hard to sleep with the noise and foot traffic.

One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in first thing off the bat there is bird poop on our bed the furniture is scarred up really bad the shower the handicap handle was off there were stains on the shower. carpet look a hundred years old I give it a 2 rating because it was cool in there and the beds were semi comfortable the breakfast has no meat on it because it is India owned and I guess they're afraid to touch pork so it was a terrible breakfast the biscuits had been microwave to rubber the gravy was too runny and the eggs weren't stirred up good (they were powdered eggs) so we ended up going to Shoney's the next morning I would have left but I done paid for 2 days and the next night we did find a different Hotel so my suggestion is all the choices there pick something else.

Do you charge for cribs, roll-a-ways, microwaves, fridges?
Rollaways are available for $5 per night. Microwaves are not available to bring to rooms, but there are rooms that have microwaves available.  Refrigerators are included in updated rooms and the specialty rooms Veranda and Family Suites. The second floor rooms of the D building also have refrigerators.  If a guest is in a room without a refrigerator, a refrigerator can be brought to that room at no charge.  Recliners are also available for a $5 charge.

What are your pool hours?
Indoor pool hours are from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm - Monday through Saturday and from 10:00 am to 9:30 pm Sunday. The outdoor pool is only open during the summer season.  

What type of parking do you have?
There is ample level parking on both sides of the property along both sides of the hotel guest rooms and another section on each side of the driving thoroughfare.

Is late check-in available?
Yes, the lobby is open and staffed 24 hours a day.

Is there a sundry shop or gift shop located on site?
No, but items such as laundry soap, dryer sheets, toothbrushes, razors, Band-Aids and other items are available at the front desk for purchase.
