"Water Park closed without warning"
August, 2018
We have stayed here in the past and we were very happy with the room and water park, however, this time we stayed 2 nights and the room wasn't cleaned and the water park closed at 3pm the second day. We were unaware this was going to happen, I wouldn't have booked the extra night. We were looking forward to spending the rest of the afternoon and evening in the waterpark but only had 15 minutes. Very disappointed. The resort did nothing to make it better. We ended up going to another resort to play in their water park.

"LOTS OF FUN!!!"
August, 2018
I don’t know where to start because it was that fun! Staff were friendly and caring to our needs. The water park was way better than expected! I was not expecting that much fun. They have many life guards available that walk around to make sure everyone stays safe and life jackets are available for your littles. I had a great time and will definitely be choosing this as our choice of stay each year

"I liked this place"
July, 2018
I really liked Castle Rock, room was clean and quiet, I didn't hear anyone around us which is always a big issue for me. The water park was great for our 3 and 7 y/o grand kids. Check in took about 5 minutes no line to wait in. The location is great too, it is a block off the main drag on the yellow route, you can go anywhere without getting stuck on Hwy 76. I am pretty picky and hard to impress but I liked this place.

"Family Vacation"
July, 2018
Hotel itself wasn’t very upscale. Had a lot of flies and nets. The walls and carpet had stains.

The pool experience was okay, kids really enjoyed swimming.

"Not completely satisfied"
July, 2018
It took 5 hours and 3 calls to the front desk to get a fridge for the room... Also they wouldn’t give us fresh towels and wash clothes in a timely matter, we had to track down a maid to get fresh linens...

Tip: There is no elevators where I was, on a second floor... the only elevator there was is in the main building. And front desk has a snotty attitude..

"Depends on what you're looking for."
June, 2018
My time at the Castle Rock Resort was a mix of good and bad. The rooms were older, and not as fresh as I would like. I travel A LOT for work so I'm pretty tolerant and it didn't get me down. They were decently clean, and the towels were plentiful - the television worked and there weren't bugs. The cleaning room staff was AMAZING with the amenities. I'm a fat guy so I use a lot of soap and towels, and they provided plenty of each. I was traveling with my wife and 2 small kids, so each day we would have fresh towels and like 5 shampoo/soaps left for us in the bathroom. Personal note on the bathroom - I'm tall (6'3) and the shower head hit me in the belly button... wife loved it since she said it made her feel tall. (she's 5'4")

The check-in was actually fairly annoying. I pre-purchased and was accused and laughed at - until she confirmed that I was right. I did not feel that the women behind the counter was very professional nor was she courteous. I believe she had suffer an illness in the past that affected her speech, so perhaps it was just simple confusion - but after insisting that I had paid for 2 rooms, and trying to show her my proof of receipt, she would laugh and say "Well, the system doesn't show that, does it?" without allowing me to see the screen.

Also, during my check-in process there was a lifeguard who was arguing about his paycheck with another one of the day management. He clearly did not speak english fluently and though nice, he just didn't understand how the payment system worked. She was very rude to him, and personally I feel like this should be handled behind closed doors - not infront of two families road weary from a 6hr car drive. :)

Finally she relented to look it up, and after processing my first room... we literally went BACK through the argument with the second. She began insisting that I might have paid for the first room, but not the second... until she looked it up.

The water park was a neat amenity but not really one I would pay a premium for. The chlorine was SUPER high (expected) and it was painfully warm in the building. The big bay doors could be opened to cool it down but the lifeguards said no.

The water slides were a lot of fun, if not worn, and the "lazy" river is more geared towards kids than relaxing in a moving current. Not bad for the price, but get what you are expecting - this is not a place on par with other indoor water parks.

There were several creepy older guys walking through the pool areas the whole time we were there. A few looked a bit seedier than I would like and were casually leering at the younger bikini'd ladies. Kind of creeper vibes - keep an eye out. I don't know if they were staying at the hotel, or paying to go into the pool area.

The restaurant was not open when we were there - and looked fairly cafeteria. Being in Branson I would imagine it's hard to compete with the sheer volume of specialty eateries in the area.

There was water bugs in the rooms. Everything is broke in the rooms. The towels have big holes in them. The front desk lady was not friendly at all. The water park was not a clean place. We actually witnessed the life guards let the “fake” baby drown several times when they were tested. My door knob, bath tub faucet knob were both broke. The first room we had the air conditioner was broke. I’m sure I’m missing something. I do not recommend this place at all.

I only gave it 1 mark, because I could not do a half and bathwater was nice and hot! The room was very nasty in this place. It has ROACHES( I killed 6)in the rooms! It had trash under both beds! The BEDS are very hard. It has holes in the wall. Only thing good was the bathwater was hot! The waterpark is COLD. NO hotub! It does have lots of slides for you you slide on. The LAZYRIVER is very cold. The waterpark was not worth any amount of money. I was very disappointed! I will Never stay here again! It is one of the outside rooms it is NOTHING like the picture!

"Average hotel room-cold water park"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

Took the grand kids twice. Stayed in the hotel rooms that are not in the "main" building. The rooms are clean but just average-plain Jane-nothing special. The hotel is in a good location-close to all shows and sites. No complimentary breakfast-which was no big deal. The main attraction for this hotel is the water park, and unfortunately both times I took the grand kids, the water was extremely cold. It seems like they don't try to "warm" it at all. Next time we go to Branson we will stay at a different hotel with a waterpark.

Beautiful lawn and garden care. It’s really well manicured and looks inviting. However, rooms are average at best. Really, it needs major updates in the side motel type rooms. Pros: Cool rooms. Two beds. Cons: Outdated decor. Carpet extremely worn, had a iron impression. Bathrooms very stained, walls and world pools. Needs a major update. I would recommend a different hotel over this place. I’ve stayed at the Best Western in Branson and yes much nicer. Go for and pay for the resort if your wanting that, stay elsewhere to sleep.

"Went for the water park, left injured"

This was our third experience at this indoor water park. We have never stayed at the hotel as we prefer to enjoy nicer accommodation, but we do choose to take our kids to the indoor water park when it’s too cold to go to White Water. For this trip, we were a bit disappointed. They need a bit of a refurbishment, as it’s starting to look a little worn down. My main concern was not looks, however, but safety. I saw 3 different people slip and fall while WALKING through the park area. This was a huge red flag and I kept reminding my own two children to be careful. Well, my daughter ended up slipping and falling into the kiddie pool area while walking past to go to the restroom, injuring her groin area. I get that it’s going to be a bit slick as there is water, but they need to do something to add traction. I doubt we’ll be back as safety is more important than fun in my book. We’ll just opt for our hotel pool during the cooler months.
