As a history nut from a military I loved this museum. I do wish I would have left the kids at home. They weren't quite as interested as I was. I will be back, kid free and ready to soak up more.

We visited a few days before Veteran's Day. My friend with me is an Army Veteran. Had he not been with me, I'd not have known/understood what some of the displays were about. I was appalled tho that they made Veteran's pay! For all they did for our country, you would think they would get in free, esp during such a week. They need more places to sit down along the way, as it took us over hour and half to see and we did not linger. Many interesting displays. The building needed attention as ceiling leaked and some ran down the names of those who lost their lives. Somber place to visit, but very interesting, somewhat emotional for those who served.

For many veterans these places are magnets, I am no exception. No matter where I find one I learn or see something new, this trip was no different. I was impressed with the number of personal artifacts and the way many were linked to generations within the same family. This is a good stop it is peaceful inside quiet enough to think while you focus on all the stories being told.
