Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede opens its 19th season with the return of the “World Famous Racing Ostriches”. The popular ostrich races, a guest favorite, vie for “most fun event” as the North and South sides’ battle in friendly competition.

Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction offers two shows in one – a one-of-a-kind Carriage Room pre-show and a full-scale arena spectacular with horses, riders, costumed servers, singing and dancing, trick riding, a fabulous four-course feast and last but not least…racing ostriches!

“I want my guests to have some down home foot stompin’ excitement,” said Dixie Stampede owner, Dolly Parton. “Part of the fun at my Dixie Stampede is giving the audience the unexpected, and these big birds are that. It’s just amazing!”

Ostriches are 6-foot tall, 600-pound flightless birds that race around the arena at speeds up to 30 miles per hour. Though they can’t fly, ostriches are fleet, strong runners. They use their wings as "rudders" to help them change direction while running. An ostrich's powerful, long legs can span 10 to 16 feet in a single stride.

During the “World Famous Ostrich Races”, Dixie Stampede performers ride the ostriches around the arena in a battle for first place. Guests will be amazed at the performers’ ability to hang on ride on top of these precarious birds.

The Magic & Comedy of Taylor Reed is filled with original illusions, comedy, and dance, along with his menagerie of furry friends. Highlights of the new show include a fire eating performance and a disappearing NASCAR illusion. Baldknobbers Jamboree Show – ‘The Show That Started It All’ has been performing in Branson for over 50 years!

The Branson family entertainment phenomenon began over 50 years ago in 1959 when the four Mabe brothers, known as the Baldknobbers, began entertaining visitors on the Branson lakefront.

Today, the family legacy continues to wow audiences by delivering everything from traditional country to today’s #1 hits and lots of side-splitting comedy. Now, the 2nd & 3rd generations of the Mabe family carry on the family tradition of performing an all new show each year. Both longtime Baldknobbers’ fans and new fans alike appreciate the Baldknobbers’ family traditions that have made this show popular from generation to generation.

Arkansas native Paul Harris has made quite a name for himself on the mid south comedy circuit. Cutting his comedy teeth on Branson stages and even headlining his own show for several years.

Paul Harris performed at and co-hosted the 2010 and 2011 CMA Music Festival.

In 2005 Harris moved to Nashville, TN and began touring the mid south and south eastern parts of the country in comedy clubs and opening for major music acts.

In June of 2010 Harris joined the ranks as a performer on the coveted LP Field (Country Music's biggest stage) in Nashville TN to close out the 2010 CMA fest. In his debut appearance Harris quickly grabbed the audience of 40,000 plus and kept them rolling throughout the evening.

Harris also tours with his music group The Cleverlys. The Cleverlys are a YouTube sensation that has gotten a lot of international attention lately.

Whether Harris is doing his popular stand up routines, or on stage with the Cleverlys, he delivers a show that audiences keep coming to see time and time again.

Prolific singer-songwriter Clint Black has long been heralded as one of Country music’s brightest stars. His many talents have taken him even further, as Black has transcended genres to become one of the most successful artists in all the music industry. To date, Black has written, recorded and released more than 100 songs, a benchmark in any artist’s career. An astounding one-third of these songs eligible for major single release also achieved hit song status at Country radio, while more than 20 million of his albums have been sold worldwide. At The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theatre, Harold Bell Wright's epic story of love, loss, power, hardship, and the true meaning of life is immortalized every night on our star-lit stage. It takes over 80 actors and actresses, 40 horses, a flock of sheep, several guns and rifles, an actual burning log cabin, and a vintage 1908 DeWitt automobile to make the live action performance the legend that it is today.

Since our first season in 1959-60, the outdoor drama has entertained millions of Branson visitors. People who came to see the show as children come back to bring their own families. Moon River Weekends presents Randy Travis October 11 & 12, 2013

Randy Travis is a country and gospel music singer whose distinctive baritone and traditional style have made him a star since the 1980s. In the late 1970s he began making demo tapes and recorded a few singles, and in 1981 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee. After a few years as a cook and singer at night spot, he released an independently produced live recording to capitalize on his increasing fan base. His first record on a major label, Storms of Life was released in 1986, and Travis toured the United States on the strength of the hits "On the Other Hand" and "1982." Since then he has sold millions of records and won numerous awards, including Grammys for Best Male Country Vocal Performance (1987 and 1988), Best Country Song (1988's "Forever and Ever, Amen") and Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album (2004's Rise and Shine).

Travis is known as a country crooner in the style of Lefty Frizell and George Jones. In recent years he has recorded bluegrass and gospel albums that have had great success, including the hit and 2003 CMA Song of the Year, "Three Wooden Crosses. With lifetime sales in excess of 20 million, Randy Travis is one of the biggest country record sellers of all time.

Price Is Right, LIVE! follows virtually the same format as the TV show: all audience members can pre-register to participate and are then called to, “Come on down!’. The contestant who wins the initial one-bid is then given a chance to win more prizes by playing one of the iconic and popular games such as Plinko, Cliffhangers, Punch-A-Bunch, and The Big Wheel to name just a few. Mel Tillis at the Clay Cooper Theatre! September - December 2012

Grand Ole Opry member and Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee, Mel Tillis has made his mark as an entertainer as well as a song writer. His many hits include "Detroit City," "Ruby," and "Coca Cola Cowboy" to name a few.

Facts about Mel Tillis:
Country music legend, Mel Tillis, started performing in the early ‘50’s with a group called The Westerners while serving as a baker in the United States Air Force, stationed in Okinawa. In 1956, Webb Pierce recorded a song written by Mel entitled “I’m Tired," and it launched Mel’s musical career.

Awards: In 1976, Mel Tillis was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters International Hall of Fame, and that same year, he was named Country Music Association’s (CMA) Entertainer of the Year. Also, for six years in the 70’s, Mel Tillis won Comedian of the Year.

In 1999, Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) named Mel Tillis the Songwriter of the Decade for two decades.

Mel was the recipient of the Golden Voice Entertainer Award for 2001. He also won the 2001 Golden R.O.P.E. Songwriter Award, and more recently received the 2004 Golden R.O.P.E. Entertainer of the Year Award.

On June 9, 2007, Mel Tillis was made a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

The ultimate happened on October 28, 2007 – Mel Tillis was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
